    Becca Hanlin

    Administrative Director

Becca is a fourth year CHD and pub pol double major. She’s been involved with RBIM since her first year at UChicago and has loved her time with the group. Becca has been dancing since she was very young, mostly ballet and tap, but her favorite dance style now is contemporary.

Outside RBIM, Becca is also involved in Jumpstart, Pi Beta Phi, & UCIEP. When she has free time, she loves to go to brunch, watch Netflix, and nap (peep her in Harper).

    Alex Dworakowski

    Artistic Director

Alex is a fourth year who has been involved with RBIM since her first year, and has made many long term friends with our amazing dancers (including three of her current roommates!!). She has been dancing for 18 years and enjoys choreographing burlesque jazz and contemporary. Her favorite part of RBIM is how it caters to all levels of dance experience and offers the opportunity to learn dance styles she wouldn't have otherwise had the chance to enjoy.

Outside of RBIM Alex is a political science and philosophy major with a minor in history. She works for the Illinois State's Attorney's Office and is most passionate about work in victim advocacy. Catch her being extra on FB and around campus rocking all black with her tiny puppy in tow.

    Marianna Zhang

    Financial & Publicity Director

Marianna Zhang is a fourth-year studying psychology and philosophy. Although she had little dance experience before college, she was delighted to find RBIM, with which she has been involved since her first-year. She is excited to contribute towards a space where people of all backgrounds, including dance experience and financial circumstances, are welcome.

    Linda Trey

    Assistant Director

Linda is a third year environmental science major. She dabbled in various types of dance when she was a child, but the most dancing she did in college before joining RBIM last year was Zumba (and dancing in public to the music in her head). Outside of RBIM, Linda is one of the RAs of Linn-Mathews and is planning on getting more involved with sustainability RSOs. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, exploring new places in the city, and reading memoirs. She’s happy to be part of one of the most inclusive dance communities on campus, and loves how it brings people together.

    Gerri Zhang

    Performance Company Chair

Gerri is a third year Mathematics spec Economics and Statistics major. She has been dancing with RBIM since first year and has enjoyed being a part of many different pieces. Gerri first started taking ballet lessons when she was three years old and has since found a love for many new styles including modern and contemporary.

In addition to RBIM, Gerri is also involved in The Blue Chips, Smart Woman Securities, Dougan Scholars, and UC Dancers. Her hobbies include playing the piano, listening to Taylor Swift, updating her pinterest board, and learning about Renaissance art. You can probably catch her on a regular day dozing off in the reg or studying in Saieh hall!

    Lela Jenkins

    Advertising Chair

Lela Jenkins is a second year studying art history and Spanish. She has only been involved with RBIM for a year but has since loved making connections with each of its members. Lela has been a dancer of all styles since a young age, but through RBIM has found jazz and contemporary to be her favorites.

Besides dance, Lela’s other interests include graphic design, travel journalism, and anything to do with the arts. You may see her involved in other campus communities, such as MODA, the Chicago Maroon, and UC Dancers.

    Nala Bodden

    Community Outreach Chair

Nala is a third year History and Political Science double major and currently the Outreach Director of RBIM. Since becoming involved in RBIM in her first year, she’s enjoyed performing in the Tap and trying for the first time West African dance. Nala has been involved in dance for all of her life, mainly doing ballet, tap, and modern, but has tried almost all forms that have been available to her.

Outside of RBIM, Nala spends her time doing Jumpstart, NSP, APO, ACSA, UCIEP, and programs at the IOP, CI+I, and CLI. In the little free time she has, she is usually cooking, baking, eating, watching old TV shows or movies, and most importantly napping. In this photo from our dance show last year, she is performing in the West African dance piece.

    Kim Kawczinski

    Costume Chair

Kim is a fourth year Music and Physics double major. Though she has been dancing since she was little, Kim only became involved with RBIM last year. In addition to RBIM, Kim plays violin in the University Symphony Orchestra, serves as Webmaster with the Society of Women in Physics, and dances with a few other campus groups. If you happen to catch her, it’s a good bet she’ll be listening to music, or applying to graduate school, or both.
